New Years Eve at the Post Card Inn

"HAPPY NEW YEAR"  from the Charter Fleet here at the Post Card Inn!
This Week it Has all been about SAILFISH, KINFISH and Yellowtail Snapper but guess what ?
There was also a run of Mahi Mahi  coming through --wrong time of the year I know but there is no accounting of what the fish are thinking.
It has been quite breezy but it has not slowed down the fishing one bit! Sailfish action has increased and with the cooler water the Kingfish have taken hold---limits of yellowtail snapper---Bonita and Blackfin Tuna are being caught , a real variety.
So far today[11 am] one boat has come back and had a rack of kingfish, the anglers were licking their lips at the fillets.
I have a few pictures for you ---Enjoy but it is more fun if you catch them yourself!
another Sailfish Release
I have some pictures for you----Enjoy but is more fun if you catch them yourself!

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday At the Post Card Inn--Islamorada, Florida Keys

Did I mention it is a Sunny Sunday today at PCI ! Florida Keys fishing is very diverse and Islamorada is in the heart of it all---short ride to the reef fishing---closest entrance to the Everglades National Park in the backcountry---The Post Card Inn is right in the middle of it all--best of both fishing worlds!
Largest Offshore Charter /Back Country Fleet in the Florida Keys. We are caught right now in the holiday inbetween time--everyone getting ready for Christmas so it has been slow people wise and just a few boats getting out fishing everyday but the fishing has been great---Offshore those sailfish have been biting their beaks off , lot of days multiple flags flying indicating sailfish releases when the Charter Boats return from fishing--- The Captains are flying their fishing kites and slow trolling deep rods at the same time--- now here's the golden opportunity to catch a bunch of different species of fish---Sailfish Kingfish, Mutton Snapper, Grouper, Tuna ,Bonita and  Jacks of all kinds!
When they anchor they almost do the same method except the Yellow tail Snapper come up behind the boat to the chum and there's more good eating going into the cooler!
Now Backcountry wise the Snook have been making an excellent Showing along with some Spanish mackerel , Sea trout ,redfish and snappers--- 3/4 to a fullday charter is best as the BC Captains have to go a bit further into the Everglades National Park to get to their secret holes--LOL
I have a few pictures today -- they just might get the blood flowing for you to book a trip or two-- speaking to some of the Captains there are still some Choice dates available -Christmas till just after New Years available---in fact make that a New years resolution ---catch a Sailfish, catch a Snook go fishing here in Islamorada!
here's a few pics for you if I don't botch it up --LOL

Now that is a Snook Smile if I ever saw one

Now That is a trophy size Snook

Everglades Park Snook , a real nice one
you can see these Snook were all caught on different days with different anglers

SAILFISH TIME @ THE POST CARD INN , ISLAMORADA ,FLORIDA KEYS

Like the title says  it's Sailfish time here in Islamorada!
I mentioned yesterday morning that Capt. Steve on the "Yabba Dabba Doo" had yet to get on the scoreboard in the Islamorada Sailfish Tournament well he must of felt his ears burning after I wrote that because the "Yabba Dabba Doo" ended the second day with THREE yes that's 3 Sailfish releases---one more day to go !
I didn't get the exact numbers of fish released or what is the high score that far, but I might of heard out of the another conversation over 100 fish maybe tomorrow for a follow up!
We only had one boat fishing the reef yesterday and he brought in a mixed bag of Yellowtail Snapper, Mutton Snapper, Cero Mackerel , Barracuda and porgies not too shabby for a morning half day!

So make your Plans , call down for a room reservation , book your Charter here at the Post Card Inn

Another Short Drive by from the Post Card Inn Charter Docks in Islamorada Florida

Looking out  at a partly Cloudy day at the Post Card Inn Charter fishing fleet right now! Well not a lot to report today, not too many boats out fishing on this Saturday morning or yesterday--- not because the fishing is slow it's not but  we seem to have a lack of anglers to fill the charters---plenty of boats plenty of rooms here at the Post Card Inn. Capt. AJ on the  "Priority" was out yesterday and nailed a 180 pound + Broadbill Swordfish for his customers, I think that makes more then a dozen for him this year--way to go AJ---the "Yabba Dabba Doo" with Capt. Steve was fishing in the Islamorada Sailfish Tournament even though they are not on the scoreboard yet over 56 Sailfish were caught and released for the first day fishing  The Reef report is about the same Yellowtail Snapper, Blackfin Tuna , Bonita and a decent showing of King Mackerel are being caught ---those kings fight hard and eat well ! Sorry no pictures were sent to me again. Tell you what If you have stayed here at the Post Card Inn and your pictures have not been published here send them to me and I will include them please be sure that they have the Post Card Inn sign and boat name or the Captain/Mate in the shot How's that for you?
Come on down , book a room , Fish hard and rest easy here at the Post Card Inn!
