Post Card Inn Saturday Report from Islamorada, Florida

Well things were pretty much status quo for the most part on Friday!  The reef Fishing for yellowtail  Snapper and Mangrove Snapper was Excellent---- seemed like limits and near limits were caught aboard our Charter Fleet!
On the Offshore side of things it was good fishing for the Blackfin Tuna, Bonita, Amberjacks but just to show you that the Dolphin are not non existent , take a look at this

That is a double rack of Dolphin, wahoo, rainbow runners, bonita, and tuna caught on the Gold Reserve  with Capt. Hayden
So you see the Dolphin are still around and this just may be the front lines of that next body of fish!

Well there is not much to report on the Dolphin Action at all!  Like I said on Sunday we are waiting for another body of fish to come through---there are till plenty of Tuna, Bonita, and Amber and Almaco Jacks to be caught, lot's of action  while looking for the elusive Mahi Mahi---now on the reef side that action is off the hook most days!  Yellowtail Snapper ,Mangrove Snapper are the main attraction and fine eating also!
Backcountry the Tarpon, Snook, Redfish are  around in the Everglades National Park with some Sea Trout, Ladyfish to fill in the gapes, so that is a good option also!
First day Back  and  no one sent me any pictures so it is a short one today!

Sunday, 8/7 ---fishing report from the Post Card Inn

Well two days in a row now the Dolphin have been scarce , just a few brought in ---that doesn't mean they are gone we just have to wait for another body of fish to move in! It should not be a long wait for us at all!  there were still plenty of Tuna and Bonita and Tripletail to pick up the slack! 
Quite a few of the Charter Fleet went to the reef and caught Yellowtail Snapper and Mangroves on half days --looked like goods catches of those!
Special mention should be made of the "Priority"  Capt. AJ Steward now has drilled another Broadbill Swordfish , this one about 80 pounds ---That makes it 3 for 3 on the Broadbills--- three trips , 3 fish plus his other catches of Dolphin, tuna and So forth----NICE GOING "PRIORITY"!

This beautiful Bull Dolphin was caught on the Suzanne II on Aug 2 by Mark from Naples and that is mate Hunter assisting him with that big old Bull

Sat--- Post Card Inn fishing report

What a difference a day Makes, the wind is quite breezy making fishing harder!  Yesterday we saw a big slow down in the dolphin fishing But it picked up for the Blackfin tuna and Bonita  you can fill the rack with em ---The blackfins are excellent eating also as most of you well know by now!
There were some dolphin brought in but not near the numbers we had a few days ago---I am sure this is just temporary and as the weather comes around things will change again.
It's not a total loss though as I mentioned the deep dropping for grouper and tile is good and the reef is alive with Yellowtail Snappers and Mangrove Snappers so there is still plenty of good fishing and eating just waiting to be caught up here with the Charter Fleet at the Post Card Inn

Post Card Inn, Islamorada Florida, fishing report 8/5

Hello Again, the "Old Cappy" back from a short break and what did I find--The fishing has slowed down a bit but still Very good!
The Dolphin are still quite a ways offshore and you have to really be looking for them to score--birds and debris that's the ticket now---sharp eyes---need I say more!
There are still quality dolphin being caught ,I saw some in the 25 to 40 pound range but most were average size for this time of the year.
 Hey ,how about a 50 pound Wahoo caught yesterday on the "Play Baby" , a few smaller ones also were brought in. We can't forget the Tuna and Bonita either ,they have shown up in large numbers also.
One of our Charter boats ,the "First Choice "went deep dropping yesterday and had a fine catch of Grouper, Tile and deep water porgies.
The Big thrill of the day was the "Priority" , Capt. AJ Steward drilled a beautiful 167 pound Broadbill  Swordfish fishing out in the deep, deep---along with some dolphin that got in the way--great catch guys!
On the reef the Yellowtail Snapper/ Mangrove Snapper are biting well along with the rest of the reef species>
At this point I usually post some Pictures but no one sent me ANY!

THESE 2 ANGLERS TOOK A TRIP ABOARD THE GOLD RESERVE ON THIS NICE DAY TO REEL IN THESE 2 NICE SIZE DOLPHIN. GREAT CATCH YOU GUYS !!!
